Scramblers raises £1600 for charity with festive event

Festive Four-Wheelers, the final event of the 2024 calendar for Scramblers, raised £1600 for two local charities, Alexandra House of Joy and StarterMotor, on Sunday 15 December.

The cars-and-coffee ‘Assembly’ event at Bicester Motion far exceeded the target of £1000 and culminated in a parade of lit-up and decorated vehicles through the surrounding villages, including Caversfield, Stratton Audley and Stratton Audley Barn, Launton and Bicester.
More than 30 cars, from modern off-roaders to early Land Rovers and other classics, lined the Main Drive at Bicester Motion before setting off behind a Bentley Blower Junior from Hedley Studios, formerly The Little Car Company. The British Racing Green machine is a fully road legal, electric imagining of the ‘Blower’ Bentleys scaled to 85% size.

Hundreds of families and enthusiasts attended the Scramblers Festive Four Wheelers Assembly to see the line-up form and take in the Christmassy proceedings, including a live brass band, Santa and festive food from Café 144 and Heroics.

Jack Phillips, membership and content manager at Bicester Motion, said: “The Scramblers team set an ambitious target in raising £1000 for charity with Festive Four-Wheelers, in a short period of time, and we have been blown away by the generosity of the members. It was particularly special to see a Blower Junior take part, which will have been the first time the community will have seen the Bicester-built Bentley on the road.

“Hopefully the parade will continue to grow and become a highlight of the festive period around Bicester, and raise even more money next year for such deserving charities.”

Scramblers will next be out in force at the sold-out Scramble on Sunday 5 January, with more than 150 cars from the membership on display around the avenues of the Technical Site.
The display allocation is a perk the Pegasus tier of Scramblers, along with ticket discounts and free entry to Assemblies.
