New Teishoku lunch menu in KIBOU Oxford

KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar in Oxford launches new lunchtime Teishoku (定食) Japanese set menu. Priced at just £17.50, the new menu is available Tuesday to Friday, from 12pm to 3.30pm.

You’ll find Teishoku set meals pretty much the width and breadth of Japan – they’re a staple in numerous restaurants and cafes across the county. They are based on the typical “ichiju sansai” style of Japanese home cooking, meaning, ‘one soup, three dishes’, the route to a well-balanced diet in Japan. Whilst the individual elements of a Teishoku may vary from location to location, the make-up of the whole menu follows the same basic formula:
Main + Sides + Rice + Soup

The lunchtime Teishoko at KIBOU will include classics such as prawn tempura or chasu kushiyaki (pork belly skewers), chicken karaage or kabocha korokke (pumpkin croquettes). This will be accompanied by a bowl of furikake rice, edamame beans (with choice of topping), tsukemono (seasonal Japanese pickles), tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), goma wakame (seaweed salad), and a bowl of homemade miso soup.
