  • All-new Family Treasures experience

‘Passport to Play’ encourages families to explore the beauty of the Palace, Park and Gardens as well as Adventure Play – the outdoor immersive play area. Children will receive a free passport booklet guiding them to different areas within the Estate through a series of questions and challenges, collecting stamps along the way. Families will be guided to the Boat House, Rose Garden, Bladon Bridge, and more to complete activities and engage them with the space. Upon completion of the Passport to Play, children will receive a badge to mark their success.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site, also announced that from 15th February the Palace will feature a unique new route into the Private Apartments. Visitors will journey through some of the grandest rooms to unlock never before seen treasures, and follow in the footsteps of dukes, duchesses and their illustrious guests. The extended State Room Tours will offer a new route through the Bar and into the main corridor as well as the family Dining Room, the Smoking Room and the Duchess’s Sitting Room. The tour will continue through into the Drawing Rooms, a route walked by royalty and the most important visitors to the Palace and then into the spectacular Grand Cabinet, the most opulent room in the Palace normally reserved for special family occasions.

In addition to these new experiences, during a visit this half term enjoy Adventure Play located within the historic Walled Garden, the biggest family-themed attraction in the Palace’s history featuring a series of immersive interconnecting zones with secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides, rope bridges – and giant carrots!

So much more than just a day out, the UNESCO World Heritage Site has a jam-packed programme of events and activities with something for every age and interest – from history buffs and nature lovers, to young adventurers and fitness junkies. 100’s of half term experiences await including the unique Lights, Camera, Action! film trail, the Marlborough Maze and exploring the vast parkland and gardens.

About Blenheim Palace

Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, Blenheim Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Set in over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland and designed by Vanbrugh in the Baroque style, it was financed by Queen Anne, on behalf of a grateful nation, following the first Duke of Marlborough’s triumph over the French in the War of the Spanish Succession.

Today it houses one of the most important and extensive collections in Europe, which includes portraits, furniture, sculpture and tapestries.

Blenheim Palace is also the birthplace of one of Britain’s most famous leaders, Sir Winston Churchill, and it was his father who described the vista on entering the Estate from the village of Woodstock as the ‘finest view in England’.
