Events Coordinator

Would you like to be part of a small and dynamic team responsible for running events, weddings and filming in some of Oxford’s most beautiful and historic spaces?
The Bodleian Libraries are seeking to appoint an Events Coordinator to join its busy Enterprises department. The role will include overseeing the operational aspects of events (including the production of detailed event schedules), assisting with the set up on the day and working closely with clients to ensure you can communicate key details to stakeholders in advance. You will work closely with colleagues in other Bodleian departments to ensure that best-practice policy guidelines and service standards are met.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours a week. It requires some evening, weekend and bank holiday working. The role will mainly be office based, with occasional opportunities for home working.

This role will require some manual handling – full training will be given.

About You
You will have previous experience of working on events, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically about all aspects of an event. In this role you will need to be able to employ tact, discretion and diplomacy in your communication with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be able to use your initiative when finding resolutions to complex logistical issues, and will be comfortable asserting rules when needed. You will be a skilled multitasker with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment as part of a team.
