St Giles Orchestra Concert – Mendelssohn, Arnold, MacCunn, Brahms
Mon 12 May, 19:30 - 21:30
St Andrew's Church, Linton Road, Summertown, Oxford
Come and celebrate Burns Night with the St Giles Orchestra where we will be serving up a feast of music to evoke the Scottish experience! Beginning with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, a piece inspired by the composer’s trip to the islands, followed by Malcom Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances which take inspiration from traditional Scottish folk tunes, and finally Scottish composer Hamish MacCunn’s spirited Land of the Mountain and the Flood. Kilts are optional!
