Come along to Cogges’ Spring Fair on Saturday 11th May – a celebration of farming and the countryside! Family fun, steam engines, craft demos, butter making demos, face painting, welly wanging and lots more! (Spring Fair activities 11am – 4pm).
Show more Join the Cotswold Sheep Society for a display of fleeces showcasing the history of wool, and meet their Cotswold ram! See craft demonstrations including spinning and dyeing wool naturally; and, watch peg weaving and have a go at rag rugging with Cogges Craft Team. Look out for Wychwood Forest Trust.
See a Marshall Steam engine, a full size Wallis and Steevens steam roller, and a half-size Burrell ‘Devonshire’ traction engine and unique half size Ransomes baler, the only one in 6 inch scale ever made. Children’s activities include ride-on toy tractor racing, butter making demos, build a Bug Hotel, and spot the wooden deer, fox, badger, owl, hare, hedgehog & squirrel on the Wildlife Trail! Plus adventure play and zip wire & baking on the range.
Visit our animals, with many heritage breeds – Cotswold and Oxford Down sheep, Oxford Sandy & Black pigs, Shetland ponies, Nubian & Pygmy goats, Norfolk bronze turkeys, free roaming chickens, cockerels and ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and farm cats. Meet the Animals sessions at 11am & 2pm.
Explore the historic manor house – the home of Downton Abbey’s Yew Tree Farm – and walled kitchen garden, orchard and meadows.
Plant a sunflower seed to take home and enter the Cogges Sunflower Competition!
