Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre Strengthens Support for Edge Housing
Since opening in 2019, Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre has cultivated a partnership with Edge Housing, an organisation dedicated to supporting the city’s most vulnerable residents, some of whom have no access to public resources.
This summer, the hotel team took its commitment a step further by embarking on a 25-mile walk from Bath to Bristol, raising over £5,000 for Edge Housing. The funds were used to purchase a new van, which will provide critical transport solutions for furnishing the charity’s support houses and helping save valuable resources.
The charity walk builds on years of consistent support from the Courtyard Oxford City Centre hotel team through various efforts including redecorating houses, gardening, and donating essential items like duvets and pillows. The team has also supported the hard-working Edge Housing staff, who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of their residents.
Sue, a dedicated Edge Housing employee for over five years, shared her gratitude: “We are so thrilled, this will make an incredible difference to operations and to what we are able to do.”
Christina Irons, Commercial Director at Courtyard Oxford City Centre said: “Building meaningful relationships within our local community is incredibly important to us. Our staff find these activities enriching, and the passion of the Edge team is truly inspirational.”
The partnership between Courtyard Oxford City Centre and Edge Housing exemplifies how businesses can make a tangible impact on their local communities by offering ongoing support to those in need.
Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre is owned by progressive developer, Dominus, whose commitment to social value and sustainability is evident throughout its portfolio of hotels.
