Chiltern Railways car parking update

Chiltern Railways is planning to increase car parking fares to improve facilities for our customers.

Chiltern will be increasing the cost of car parking by 4.9% across our 19 managed car parks from Monday 29 July. The increases reflect the rising cost of operating our car parks, and are the first price rises announced since January 2020.

Blue badge holders, customers using motorcycles and our 20 minute drop off bays will not be charged for parking as per our existing policy.

Our car parking revenue is being used to fund improved facilities for customers. This includes a recent project to re-line our car parks. We are also investing £4 million in a replacement car park at Bicester North station, with works due to start in early 2025, as well as the installation of new electric car charging points at selected stations.

Chiltern are also working with partners to review the options for refurbishing the car park at Haddenham and Thame Parkway station. Further information on this project will be shared in early 2025.

The price increases do not impact car parks managed by other providers, such as those at Solihull and Dorridge which are owned and operated by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
