The Feathers Hotel Woodstock announced as Experience Oxfordshire Ambassador Partner

The Feathers Hotel in Woodstock is showing its support for the county’s visitor economy by aligning with Experience Oxfordshire, the official Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP)1 and Destination Management Organisation (DMO) as an Experience Oxfordshire Ambassador Partner.

The much-loved, Grade II-listed hotel in the centre of the historic town was acquired by the Ede Homes Group in 2023 and will re-open in July following an extensive refurbishment.

Ede Homes Group Managing Director, Daniel Ede, expressed his enthusiasm for the Woodstock landmark and Experience Oxfordshire’s work in promoting the area: “We are very excited to be joining Experience Oxfordshire as an Ambassador Partner as we prepare to re-open the Feathers Hotel to the public in our historic Woodstock location.

With the UNESCO World Heritage site, Blenheim Palace, on our doorstep, our hotel is a local landmark and we are cognoscente of its important role, both within the fabric of local life and as part of the tourism infrastructure of the area. We are passionate about maintaining the integrity of The Feathers whilst creating a welcoming, desirable 21st century experience. In doing so we look forward to working with the Experience Oxfordshire team and fellow partners to grow the value of the visitor economy within Oxfordshire for the benefit of us all.”

Hayley Beer-Gamage, CEO of Experience Oxfordshire responded: “Following several years of anxiety within our sector, it’s great to witness Ede Homes’ optimism for the future of the county’s visitor economy as demonstrated by their investment in The Feathers Hotel and in other accommodation projects around Oxfordshire.

“The visitor economy contributes over £2 billion each year to the local economy, supporting some 37,000 jobs and amenities which are enjoyed by local residents as well as visitors. We need to give people valued reasons for visiting us, and the reopening of The Feathers clearly enhances Woodstock and the surrounding area’s offer.”

Experience Oxfordshire is a partnership organisation working with local businesses to grow the value of the visitor economy in Oxfordshire, for the benefit of everyone. Ambassador Partners are leading businesses from a variety of sectors across the Oxfordshire economy and they play an active part in ensuring the sustainability of the organisation. Collectively they bring valuable insight, support and strategic direction to the work Experience Oxfordshire does as the DMO for the county.
