Henley Town Council Proudly Announces “Henley Olympics Live”
Henley Town Council is thrilled to announce “Henley Olympics Live,” an exciting initiative spearheaded by our new Mayor, Rory Hunt. This event will take place from Wednesday, 31st July to Sunday, 4th August, bringing the thrill of the Olympics to the heart of our town.
A large screen will be set up at the top of the Market Place, where residents and visitors can gather to enjoy live BBC coverage of the Olympics. The big screen will feature various events, with a special focus on rowing during the mornings and culminating in the much-anticipated 100m final on Sunday afternoon at 8:55 pm.
To ensure comfort and convenience, a limited number of chairs will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnics. Those visiting any of the Market Place shops with outdoor seating will also have a fantastic view of the screen and can enjoy the festivities.
With 25 local athletes competing in the rowing events, there is a lot of local pride. Definitely something to get together and cheer about!
We are pleased to announce that the Thursday morning market will proceed as usual without any disruptions.
Stay tuned for additional exciting announcements related to “Henley Olympics Live,” as we have more surprises in store to make this a memorable event for everyone.
Join us in the Market Place from 31st July to 4th August, 9am to 9.30pm (with some variations depending on the coverage schedule) to experience the Olympic spirit and cheer on your favourite athletes with the community.
