An exciting May half term at Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play

This May half term, Blenheim Palace has announced an exciting schedule of events and activities for families to experience which includes meeting miniature Shetland pony, Jack Brock, who previously appeared on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend.

Families can enjoy a specially-introduced trail in the Walled Garden themed around Jack’s journey so far and his visit to Blenheim Palace, Park and Gardens. Upon finishing the interactive trail, children will get to meet and pet Jack the Shetland pony and receive themed bookmarks and stickers to mark their visit too.

A dementia ambassador, Jack the Shetland pony will be with his owner Ali Stearn who will be taking donations to raise vital funds for Dementia UK.

During the May half term visit to Britain’s Greatest Palace, families can also discover tropical butterfly species, including red lacewing, emerald peacock, the stunning blue wave as well as several zebra finches in the newly-renovated Butterfly House. When it’s time to refuel, head to the Walled Garden Pizzeria for freshly made woodfired pizzas.

For families looking for a whole day of half term fun, Blenheim Palace is also home to Adventure Play where little ones can unleash their imagination on the ziplines, slides, swings and tunnels designed for children of all abilities. To continue the adventure, take a ride on ‘Winston’ the miniature train, running back and forth between the Palace and the Walled Garden.

Earlier this month, Blenheim Palace announced the launch of an all-new combined Palace and Play Pass which is ideal for May half term family days out. The new ‘access all areas’ annual pass is £150 for a family of four (two adults and two children) and individual passes are £50 per adult and £40 per child. Existing Family Annual Pass holders (two adults and two children) can upgrade to the new Palace and Play Pass for £51 and individual annual passes can be upgraded for £18 per child and £12 per adult.

What’s more, Blenheim Palace has also announced that during May, dogs will be welcome to all three courtyards and the Formal Gardens. Currently, access is restricted beyond Clock Arch – so this should make quite a difference to a visit – for one month only.*

From Saturday 25th – Monday 27th May Blenheim Palace Food Festival will be returning for three days of culinary thrills, bursting with delicious produce from a wide variety of local and national stallholders. There will be artisan treats, homemade delights, craft beers, cocktails, mocktails, and more.**

Heather Carter, Managing Director – Visitor Attraction at Blenheim Palace, said, “Families looking for the ultimate day out this May half term should look no further. In addition to a host of activities and things to see and do that we already have on offer for our annual pass holders and our newly introduced Palace and Play Pass, this immersive experience is the cherry on top.”

During the month of May, Dogs are welcome into the Great Court, all the formal gardens, the parkland and wider Estate, as well as into the Walled Garden excluding Adventure Play.

*Entrance to Blenheim Food Festival is free with a valid Pass or day ticket.

About Blenheim Palace

Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, the Oxfordshire Estate was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Set in over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland and designed by

Vanbrugh in the Baroque style, Blenheim Palace is also the birthplace of one of Britain’s most famous leaders, Sir Winston Churchill and it was his father who described the vista, on entering the Estate from the village of Woodstock, as the ‘finest view in England’.
