City Sightseeing helping locals rediscover Oxford
Tourism in Oxford is bouncing back, as 2,000 visitors per week enjoyed open-top bus tours of the city in June.
City Sightseeing Oxford, owned by Oxford Bus Company, carried 8,000 passengers in June and is expecting another busy month, thanks to the #RediscoverOxford campaign.
Oxfordshire residents are being offered the opportunity to reconnect with the city thanks to a special offer from Oxford Bus Company in support of #RediscoverOxford. Oxford Bus Company is providing a free 2for1 offer for its City Sightseeing Oxford’s open-top bus tours or a visit to Carfax Tower via its local newspaper the Oxford Times.
More than 100 people have used the voucher to take advantage of the offer which is valid on Monday to Fridays until 16th July. When one person purchases a ticket for City Sightseeing Oxford or Carfax Tower, an accompanying adult or child will qualify for a free pass. The #RediscoverOxford partnership spearheaded by Oxford City Council, Experience Oxfordshire, Independent Oxford, Oxford Times, Oxford Mail and Oxford Bus Company is designed to encourage people to visit the city centre and refuel the visitor economy.
The City Sightseeing Oxford tour takes in the city’s famous sites, covering the Oxford Castle, Christ Church College, Magdalen Bridge, Sheldonian Theatre, and Ashmolean Museum. Carfax Tower is the highest building in Oxford City Centre and provides stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside.
Oxford Bus Company are continuing to maintain an enhanced cleaning and hygiene regime across their entire fleet.
