The Oxford Artisan Distillery Starts Delivering Sanitiser to Local Care Homes, Hospitals and People in Need

The Oxford Artisan Distillery has announced that it is making alcohol hand sanitiser to support the fight against COVID-19 and to help local organisations and people in need.

 

The Oxford Artisan Distillery will supply hand sanitiser to Oxfordshire care homes, hospitals and the local community at cost and will distribute it for free, they will also offer donations to individuals in need. To support this effort the distillery has launched a campaign for donations to fund this initiative via the fund raising site Go Fund Me https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-oxford-artisan-distillery-make-sanitiser.

 

Cory Mason, Master Distiller said, “We couldn’t sit by and see this crisis unfold without doing something to help.”

 

As the distillery already produces alcohol from grain-to-glass, the distillery team can easily turn its hand to making sanitiser and is making it to the World Health Organisation’s recommended formulation of alcohol. The biggest challenge has been to source the materials quick enough.

 

Managing Director, Tagore Ramoutar said “As a small local distillery we are limited in how much we can do. With the support of the public we can do more. All donations will be used to produce more hand sanitiser for those who need it most during the COVID-19 outbreak.
