Oxford Castle Unlocked tickets
Costumed character guides will reveal the Castle's colourful past to you...
If you thought Oxford was just about elegant spires and world-class academia then think again!
Oxford Castle - Unlocked reveals Oxford's less well known history, one that's rich with tales of great escapes, betrayal and even romance - all within the walls of this ancient castle and prison.
* Climb the Saxon St George' Tower, one of Oxford's oldest building, and enjoy its stunning 360° views
* Descend deep underground into the dark atmosphere of the 900 year old Crypt
* Explore the austere confines of the 18th century Debtors' Tower and Prison D-Wing
After your tour you will be inducted into the Prison D-Wing and the wider castle site where you will be able to explore at your own leisure. You will also be able to scale the Mound of the 11th century motte-and-bailey castle and access the vaulted Well Chamber.
Open daily from 10.00am (last tour 4.20pm).
Tours leave every 20 minutes. However at busier times, there may be a slight delay.
If you're not sure when you want to visit then don't worry - purchase these open dated tickets - valid for any day.

Unfortunately due to Health and Safety, children under the age of 5 years are not permitted up to the Tower (for this reason, there is no entrance charge for under 5's).
We request one guardian to stay at the bottom of the Tower when the tour group goes up if you have an under 5 in your party. However we keep you occupied with our video link screen and Oxford Castle history screen. You are then able to rejoin your group as the tour continues.
Surrender a valid ticket
