Cogges Manor Farm

Opening Times

Open daily from 9.30am – 4.30 pm (from late February until 31st October 2022)

Discover Cogges Manor Farm – a hidden gem at the heart of Witney in the beautiful Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

Cogges is a Scheduled Ancient Monument with over 1000 years of history, set against the stunning backdrop of a 13th century manor house and Grade II listed 18th century farm buildings. Learn the fascinating story of past owners ranging from Norman knights, English Kings, Oxford University college founders to tenant farmers and wool merchants, with links to Witney’s historic wool and blanket trade.

Today, Cogges is an award-winning visitor attraction for all the family to enjoy. Explore over 17 acres of naturally beautiful grounds, the enchanting walled garden, picnic orchard, moated islands and river Windrush walk – dogs are welcome too!

Children love to feed the farm animals, explore the meadows and have fun in the woodland adventure play areas. Cogges also plays host to many special events, ranging from outdoor theatre and beer festivals, weddings, craft workshops and extra family activities in the school holidays.

Fans of Downton Abbey will be interested to know Cogges is the home of Yew Tree Farm and Mr Drewe, the tenant farmer. Many of the farm scenes in series 4, 5 & 6 took place in the grounds! Cogges has also featured in the 2019 film Colette, starring Keira Knightley and Dominic West about the French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette.

Stop for breakfast, lunch or a delicious home-made treat from the Cogges Kitchen café and you won’t be disappointed. You don’t need to buy a ticket for the farm to visit the café or retail areas.
