CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien Tour 2017
Mon 2 Jan 2017 to Sat 30 Dec 2017
This specialist tour runs every month on a Saturday
For all fans of the most famous writers in the Oxford literary group known as the Inklings, this is the specialist tour to take. Your expert guide will take you to see the pub where the Inklings met regularly, as well as to visit a college associated with them. You will learn about all the places in Oxford where Tolkien and Lewis lived and worked. You may even catch a glimpse into how even today, Oxford is like a doorway not only into the past, but also into the imaginary worlds created by these writers.
We suggest you arrive at the meeting point outside Oxford Visitor Information Centre at 15-16 Broad Street 10 minutes before the start of your tour. Please book for a later time if you think you might be delayed as we are unable to contact the guide once the tour has departed.
The booking will be registered under the cardholder's name.
Your booking is made for a specific date and time. It is not transferable nor refundable.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum 2 children per adult).
Please note that pushchairs may not be admitted to a college and may have to be left outside at your own risk.
Access to Colleges
Wheelchair users are welcome on all tours. As access to some colleges may be restricted, please let us know when you book your ticket so the tour can be made wheelchair accessible.
*Guide dogs are allowed on the tours.
All colleges reserve the right to close on the day. While we do our best to book a college visit it is not always possible.
Experience Oxfordshire and the Oxford Guild of Guides do not accept liability for any damage or loss from any cause whatsoever in connection with this tour.
