Advance booking is essential for all group visits, even for self-conducted visits. Groups who have not booked may be turned away if the Museum is busy. Bookings can be made either by phone or via an online enquiry form which can be found on their website.

To avoid disappointment we recommend booking as far ahead as you can. We usually need at least two months notice to organize a guided tour for your group.

The Ashmolean recommends a maximum of 15 people for gallery talks and ask that large groups divide in to smaller groups to move around the Museum.

If you would like to pre arrange refreshments for a booked group, please book with
benugo, the in house caterers, by calling Busi on 01865 514751 or e-mail You will need to give 5 working days notice.

The coach drop-off and pick-up bay is on St Giles.
